KNV’s chief strategist, having been present at the birth of LNG in Thailand when he served as a director on the first board of Thai LNG Power Co., the forerunner of PTT LNG Limited. A highly respected member of Thailand’s established business community, Mr. Cholvanich has exceptional relationships with many key figures in the Thailand Ministry of Energy, PTT Plc and the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and its subsidiary companies. His successful experience as an electric power contractor in Myanmar has provided him with excellent relationships at the Ministry of Electric Power and Ministry of Energy. 

Viravat holds a bachelor’s degree from Chulalongkorn University, MBA and MS degrees from Oregon State University and is a graduate of the Executive Management Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

KNV’s lead expert in natural gas and LNG procurement, marketing and regulatory matters. His expert knowledge of natural gas regulatory matters in Thailand includes importing LNG and distributing natural gas in the domestic pipeline system under Third Party Access codes. Having worked in Thailand with EGAT since 1987, Dr. Downard has strong working relationships with customers including PTT Plc and EGAT and its subsidiary companies.  He worked for several years as an internal advisor at PTT for LNG procurement and more recently advised American, Middle Eastern and Japanese companies in marketing LNG in Thailand and adjacent countries.

Doug holds a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and master’s degree and PhD from Indiana University.

A key contributor to all strategic planning, business development, technical analysis, and project management, drawing on her background in public policy and engineering.  Ms. Downard’s experience as a public policy professional includes over 10 years of working within the Executive Branch. A recipient of the Treasury Secretary’s Honor Award, Ms. Downard advised senior U.S. Treasury officials in the development and implementation of strategies and policies to support U.S. national security and foreign policy objectives and to ensure the integrity of the international financial system. She served as Senior Advisor to the U.S. Treasury Deputy Secretary, Economic Advisor to Quartet Special Envoy James Wolfensohn, former World Bank President, and in various positions at the White House Council of Economic Advisors and the World Bank.

Catherine holds a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in Economics from Oxford University. 

A trained engineer with a strong background in both electrical and power engineering, as well as business and project management. He has worked in the oil and gas business for over ten years, gaining invaluable hands-on experience as an engineer in one of Thailand’s newest refineries. Mr. Cholvanich has an insider’s knowledge of Thailand and Southeast Asia oil and gas markets and best business practices.

Napon holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Mahidol University and master’s degree in Information Technology from the University of Canberra. He also completed the prestigious Sloan Fellow Course at the Sloan School of Business, Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
